Support Your Local Businesses

I was a bit naughty the other day and bought myself some really pretty earrings from Bijoux by Kirsty. Bijoux is a small independent business in Norfolk and hand makes all of her jewellery!

Kirsty creates one off necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and even mobile phone charms!
I'm a huge fan of turquoise, so when I came across these I was like, HELL YEAH! They were at the bargain price of £5, so a great place to buy beautiful jewellery on a budget.

I can't wait to wears these puppies out! I just need to find a lush outfit to match. I don't tend to go for delicate jewellery, I'm more of a gold hooped earring kinda gal but I just had to have these.

Ladies Night - Peri Boutique

I was invited by the lovely Justine Sherwood-Pendrill to a ladies night at Roccos in Norwich. I have have never been to Roccos and I've never really been to a ladies night either!
Roccos itself is a rather lavish bar down the notorious Prince of Wales Road ( for those of you who aren't from round Norwich, it's where all the nightclubs are)

It was hosted by Peri Boutique a clothing shop based down Prince of Wales. They were showcasing their latest clothing, some of the dresses were fab! Don't get me started on the heels, they were out of this world!

If any of these take your fancy, head over to their Facebook page - Peri Boutique

I was greeted by these topless men, a nice little treat! They offered me bubbly and canap├ęs, yummy! If you fancy hiring these buff butlers check out their website: Naked Butlers Norwich - Naked Butlers & Buff Butlers in the Norwich Area

My first port of call was to see Justine at the Beaute Academy stand (she's the one in red!) Check out Justine's blog:

(Above: Sophie Sherwood-Pendrill)

Beaute Academy is a teaching academy based in Norwich and offers classes in make-up, spray tanning, facials, you name it, they do it! All these beauty classes are reasonably priced, so even for the poor people (me) it's achievable!
They were offering eyebrow waxing and gel polish treatments, so I couldn't turn down the opportunity to get my eyebrows done! At £5 you can't really squabble!

 (not my finest moment)

There were a wide range of companies at the event, including Ann Summers, Herbalife, Natural Perfection, Salon Sixty Six, Bijoux by Kirsty, Pets Palace Boutique and Gourmet Donuts ( there were a few others but I just didn't have enough time to see everyone unfortunately!)

Most of us ladies know what Ann Summers is all about but in case you don't, they are a very successful lingerie and sex toy business in the UK. From nipple clamps, to suspenders, these ladies have got everything for you! The Norwich team are a lovely bunch and will help you with any queries :)

Natural Perfection is owned by Kendall (pictured) and specialises in Natural Hairstroke Brows, LED Teeth Whitening, Lip Liner & Lip Brush & Eye Liner & Latino Liner.

These are all semi permanent make up treatments ( exc the teeth whitening of course) and are all at really good prices! Check out the link above for more info.
 (Pets Palace Boutique)

At first, I thought these were baby clothes from afar but then these lovely ladies were happy to explain to me that they sell cute and adorable cat & dog clothing, toys & beds. They offer great little hoodies, to dresses and collars! All at great value too!

Bijoux by Kirsty had some extremely pretty and rather delicate pieces of jewellery for sale. They are all handmade by Kirsty, so hats off to her for all her hard work! I in fact bought a gorgeous pair of earrings from her ( I'll add a separate little blog about them!)
Check out her Facebook page :)

I have heard of Herbalife before and a few of my friends swear by it, but I was never really sure what it was. I spoke to Kathleen and her lovely daughter and they explained what it was and what it does! Apparently, it used to be for astronauts as they can't bring solid foods into space, and so the idea derived from that!

The aim of Herbalife is for you to drink the shakes & take the green tea pills which help you feel more full, without wanting to crave for sweet foods, as well as giving you a high protein diet!

Kathleen was kind enough to give me a 6 day trial and challenged me to see how I get on with it! The challenge has been accepted! I will report back as soon as possible!

 (Gourmet Donuts)

This lady makes possibly the best donuts I have ever tasted. I couldn't help but try the apple and cinnamon donut and OH MY GOD, was it delicious. If you fancy picking up yourself some of these delicious donuts, then visit her website above!

As I'm in the process of organising a bloggers meet up in Norwich, I am very tempted to ask her to come along and feed us full with these outrageously good treats!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to speak to the girls from Salon Sixty Six but I was able to grab a goody bag and some details! They sell some great Philip Kingsley products in their salon as well as offering a cut and finish from only £20! I will definitely be interested in visiting their salon soon! My hair is getting a little bit straggly! Website is here:

I couldn't stay for the whole evening, so I missed a very talented young singer :( but it was a really enjoyable evening and I will happily attend another ladies night!

So what are the rules?

You must display the award logo at the top of your post.

You must thank the person that nominated you and leave a link to their blog.

Add this set of rules to your post so your nominees will know what to do.

Add 7 facts about yourself into the post.

Nominate up to 15 other lovely blogs and leave links to each of them in your post.

So here are my 7 facts about me -

1. I am somehow ( my Grandma knows the intricate details) related to Sir Paul McCartney)

2. I have a 4cm forehead, it's really crazy how small my forehead really is!

3. I did work experience at Radio One with Zane Lowe and it was the best moment of my life! I was only 16 years old and looked up to Zane Lowe so much. He was dancing around to a song so erratically, his wedding ring fell off and we had to hunt around the studio for it.

4. I have the cutest cat called Django, he's nearly a year old and I love him a little bit too much. I make songs up about him because he makes me so HAPPY!

5. I help organise a small festival in Norfolk called the Treehouse Festival and I absolutely love it!

6. I really don't trust microwaves, they freak me out, I try to avoid them as much as possible.

7. I was part of a Guinness World Record for the most amount of people taking part in a Zumba dance lesson in Cairns, Australia.

Some seriously random facts there I know!

So I am now going to nominate my favourite blogettes at this moment in time:

Octobers Birchbox

As I haven't had a beauty box delivered to my door for a while, I thought I would order one, but this time, go for a different company. I tried Glossybox for a few months, but wanted a bit of a change, so decided to try Birchbox instead.

Birchbox is £12.95 a month, which is a good price in comparison to some other leading beauty boxes. Anything you like from your Birchbox you can buy from their website too!

Benefit 'It's Potent!' Eye Cream

As soon as I discovered what was in this little box of dreams, I was sold!
I knew straight away that 3 of the products I would definitely use and the other 2 I would give a try. The first product that grabbed my attention was the Benefit 'It's Potent!' Eye Cream (rrp £25.50).

I tried this lovely cream this morning and it seems like a product I could get on with. If it starts showing signs of improvement on my horrible dark eye bags (haha) I will consider adding this to my beauty regime!

Pixi by Petra - Shea Butter Lip Balm

I absolutely fell in love with this product! It is just what I need for this autumn and it smells so creamy and yum! I also like the fact it puts a bit of colour into your lips too, so if you're not feeling the lipstick vibe but want a tad of colour, this is definitely a good choice!

Pixi by Petra - Shea Butter Lip Balm rrp £8

KMS California - HAIR PLAY Playable Texture

The fact that it's a multi-functional product is awesome, you're saving money straight away!
When applied to wet hair it is good as a 'prep spray' for blow drying and when applied to dry hair, it's perfect for volume and restyle!

The last two beauty products I got in my box, I was a bit unsure about...

Shaveworks - The Cool Fix (rrp £11)

This little bottle of potion basically soothes any ingrown hairs, razor bumps or redness after hair removal! I'm not sure if I'm ever going to use this product as I never seem to have the above problems, but there is always time!

It's a product I have never come across before, it's a neat idea, it smells similar to after sun and insect repellant!

RMK - Eyeshadow rrp £20.

I have never used purple eyeshadow in my life, it's not really a colour I want on my face. It seems to be a great product, and if they do other colours, I would try them, but unfortunately, purple just isn't for me!

I like the packaging though :)

Cute and handy for my handbag!

All these products can be found on the Birchbox

All in all, I am really happy with the Birchbox so far and look forward to many more!

I also have a video of this on Youtube:

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer

I wanted to branch out a bit when it comes to lipsticks as I always wear the same pink shade or nude colours. I kept seeing and hearing about MUA make-up and thought I would give them a try.

I decided to buy their Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer as some of the colours they have are a little more dare-ish than my usual preference!

(From left to right: Funk, Reckless & dare)

I bought 3 from Superdrug as they were doing a 3 for 2 offer, so I snapped up these 3 shades.  I like the idea of the 'velvet' look so these were are a good trial run as they were only £3.

(From left to right: Funk, Reckless & Dare)

I prefer a lipgloss to a lipstick as I like a bit of moisture, but the idea of the velvet lacquer is to have a matte look and for the lacquer to not come off your lips.

These are what the colours look like:
Colour: 'Dare'

Colour: 'Funk'

After applying all three, I preferred 'Funk'  as it was a slightly different shade to the typical nude or bright pinks that I wear. I really like the matte look to it too.

I had some disappointing results from these products, which I was quite gutted about. After about 15-20 minutes the lacquer started to rub off, so I kept having to re-apply. Once I had done this, it would then crumble and come off, becoming a really messy job! I ended taking it off completely and applying a different lipstick altogether, bit of a nightmare when you're on a night out!

For £3, I wasn't really expecting an amazing product, but I would of thought it would last at least an hour! Obviously not!

I'm going to try some of their other products as I feel I should give them the benefit of the doubt, but won't be buying these again!

Bootea Teatox Experience

Bootea Teatox

I decided to try out the Bootea 14 day Teatox, I kept seeing it on Instagram and seeing as I'm one for 'fad diets' (I have no faith in any form of diet/supplements) I thought I would give it a try.

(above: bedtime & daytime pouches)

If you're not used to herbal teas, then the taste might be a bit strange for your taste buds! The daytime tea tastes a bit like lemon, it's very fresh and tasty for a morning drink!

The bedtime tea however is a bit more potent and tastes like peppermint. It tasted good to me, but for non-herbal drinkers, it might be a bit off-putting!
If you really don't like the taste, you can always add  squash to it.

I love herbal teas, so this wasn't a problem for me ( my favourite is peach green tea, thanks for asking!)

(The bedtime cleanse - It looks a bit like urine, but it taste yummy!)

The daytime tea bags come in a little pouch and you have to drink one everyday for 14 days, whilst the bedtime cleanse comes in an even smaller pouch and only has 7 tea bags; one for every other evening.

Okay, so the first day of the tea was fine, I enjoyed the taste and everything seemed to be normal. However, when I went to drink my first bedtime cleanse, the next morning I was straight in the toilet! Now, I don't want this to put you off as the bedtime cleanse has natural laxatives in it ( Senna Leaves) so this is suppose to happen!

In actual fact, the bedtime cleanse is meant to, literally, cleanse your colon, yummy I know.
Anyway, after about the 3rd day my tummy started to feel flatter and my appetite had got smaller, winning!

As the week progressed the bedtime cleanse got a bit more intense, living on the loo was a bit of an understatement! Myself of all people can take a lot of poop, seeing as I suffer with IBS; but there were some unpleasant moments that's for sure! (Again, I don't want this to put you off as this is normal, I promise!)

I didn't experience any other side effects such as the 'shakes' or feeling crappy, It gave me a lot of energy in fact!

By the end of the week I had successfully lost 5lbs (woohoo) and the tea definitely suppressed my appetite.

Bootea provides you with a meal plan which is free from their website, it definitely helps the weight loss!

Despite the emergency trips to the toilet every morning, I would highly recommend this product!
This is the first diet supplement which I haven't felt has cheated me :)
I will be buying the daytime tea again as I felt it really helped me!

Bootea is only £20 (exc p&p) which you can buy from their website, or alternatively, you can buy it from Holland & Barrett

I hope this helps your decision on purchasing Bootea!

Burnham Deepdale Weekender

It was my boyfriends sisters 30th birthday this weekend and we decided to throw her a surprise birthday weekender!

We chose Burnham Deepdale Backpackers as Molly is all for eco- friendly places, and this was the perfect place! It's a lovely converted barn, set in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside and loves to be kind to the environment! Winner!

( my lovely assistant Pippa...oh and John, peering round the corner!)

The barn is perfect for a large group of people, it sleeps 19 people but there was only 12 of us for the weekend (so plenty of space for activities!)

All of the rooms had bunk beds, which was really cool as it was like going back in time when you were about 6 and loved being on the top bunk! They were super clean and tidy, had nice views and the beds were comfy too!

(our room - behind me was another bunk bed, so 6 people were in this room)

The kitchen was a good size for the amount of people we had and everything was labelled ( glass bin, food bin, cardboard etc) so we were doing our bit for the environment for sure! It came with all the amenities you need for a weekend, such as 2 fridges, oven, kettle etc.

The living/dining room was fairly big, with 3 large tables put together to create a long table ( a bit like a banquet!) and 3 decent sized squishy sofas to lounge about on!

It does have a TV, but to be honest, we were having too much fun playing games and drinking to even want to have it on.

There were 2 toilets and 2 showers, the showers were really nice and hot and were never temperamental, which you can sometimes get in hotels/hostels.

Burnham Deepdale is not far from the beach, so there was plenty of walking routes for the avid walkers out there.
Burnham Market was only 3 miles away, so if you fancied being posh for the day, you could maybe grab a spot of lunch at the Hoste Arms or buy some fancy little presents from the various shops, including Joules and Jack Wills.

We decided to take a drive to Wells for the afternoon and had some lovely lunch from Wells Deli, they do all kinds of sandwiches, cakes, sausage rolls etc, but I decided to go for the Thai chicken broth, it was lush!

After an ice cream and the arcades, we headed back for a bit of a nap!

We then walked to one of the pubs in Burnham Deepdale, The Jolly Sailor - this was a rum pub, which is my kind of pub! I absolutely LOVE rum! It is so delicious, agh!

It was heaving in there, but finally got a seat and had some fantastic food! I decided to go all out and have the BBQ pulled pork burger, whilst my boyfriend had the BBQ pulled pork pizza ( great minds...)

Seeing as it was a rum pub, we thought it would be rude not to have a cocktail! As I am doing Sober October, I was in a sticky situation, but fear not as McMillan Cancer have given us fellow sober-ites, a golden ticket! All you have to do is donate £15 and you can have a night of drinking! So I took this opportunity and had myself a cocktail! I chose a dark 'n' stormy whilst my boyfriend went all out and had a was a very questionable colour, but apparently tasted pretty darn good!

Overall, the weekend was an absolute blast and would highly recommend Burnham Deepdale Backpackers to anyone!

( the crew!)

Paul Mitchell Blogger Event

 The Paul Mitchell Event

So, my friend Hannah ( and I made our way to the Paul Mitchell event this evening, we really weren't sure what we were expecting, so when we arrived to this:

We were a little beside ourselves!

The venue was beautiful and even though I have lived in Norfolk for many years, I have never been to Dunston Hall!

We were greeted by the lovely host Sarah, who is part of the PR department for Paul Mitchell and made us all feel really welcome ( she had me at 'free cocktail?')
( It was a mocktail as I'm doing Sober October! Still tasted good, no idea what was in it!)

I should really get down to the products and tell you all how fab they are, so I will!

Some of the many products Paul Mitchell sells. They all smell so yummy, I wanted to eat them!

As I have blonde hair, I went straight for the blonde trio set, which smelt delicious!

'The Art of Blonde' £35.00

I thought the packaging design was really cute too:

This is good for all blondes but I have been told that they cater for the platinum blondies out there too (woohoo!) So I will be testing out that product very soon!

As I got talking throughout the evening, I found out a lot more about the Paul Mitchell range and the different products they do, they are a really versatile company and have definitely kept their army of fans strong, as Paul Mitchell will be celebrating their 35th birthday next year!

After getting a good understanding of the different products they do (including these amazing hair straighteners and hair dryers!) we were all given a huge bag of goodies:

 It was sooo heavy!

A generous helping no?

I got a really good selection of products, including the 'Lavender Mint Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner*' which you can get in a gift set with a Tea Tree Body Bar  for £27.50.
The lavender isn't too potent, it's just the right amount, so you don't have to worry about smelling like your nan!

I also got the Extra Body Daily Boost* - this product is put onto your roots ( on damp hair) and gives your hair a bit of pow, AKA: volume!!! This retails at £14.50 (250ml)

I especially like the Lemon Scented Candle*, it will make my room smell fresh and clean! It's super lemony, so beware you anti-lemon lovers! This candle is a complimentary gift if you buy any Tea Tree Shampoo!

Last but not least, the stunning i-smoulder*(Smoky Eye Pencil and Shadow) in Ember by CID Cosmetics
(Excuse my wrinkly hand!)

I am really looking forward to trying this out for a night out, I love the colours so much! Very autumnal!

After much chatting, meeting some lovely bloggers and drooling over the products, I think it was safe to say we both really enjoyed this evening and it was really worth going!
