Top 5 Favourite Christmas Advent Calendars 2016

Christmas is exactly 216 days away(when I'm writing this post) that may seem like ages away but before you know it you'll be getting that Christmas tree down from the loft and trying to make sure your cat doesn't lick the turkey.

This means there's even less days to start opening the inevitable advent calendar.

Most of us will just go out and buy a Cadbury's or if you're feeling a bit posh, a Lindt advent calendar. Although I absolutely love chocolate and having an excuse to eat it everyday is great, it would be nice to have something a little bit different.

Last year my fiance and I made each other our own advent calendars. It was really fun ( even if it was a bit of a ball ache) and was very thoughtful! This year I have decided I would really like an 'alternative' advent calendar, just because.

I've been perusing the internet and have found five calendars in particular that I like the look of, so here's the run down:

1. Bomb Cosmetics Bath Bomb Advent Calendar

I am partial to a nice warm bath, so why not have a bath every single day? I mean, I do wash but a bath is for like special occasions! You can pick this up from Ebay of all places and is only £19.99.

2. Charlotte Tilbury 'World of Legendary Parties' Advent Calendar

If you're like me and you enjoy a bit of luxury every so often then this is the advent calendar for you. Charlotte Tilbury has become an increasingly popular brand within the beauty blogger world and since it's launch at Norwich's Jarrold store, everyone is talking about it. This calendar is available at Selfridges (the best shop in the world) and is at a bargain price of £150. Okay, I kid, that's pretty steep BUT it comes with a shed load of products, including:

Mini Magic Cream
Pocket Pout in Jessica Red
Mini Goddess Skin Clay Mask

Plus many more great products!

3. Yankee Candle Advent Calendar

I'm an absolute sucker for anything Yankee Candle related. This top 5 isn't in any particular order but if it was, this would be my number one for sure. I have an unhealthy obsession with these damn candles! I could smell them all day and wouldn't get a headache. This advent is available in lots of different online shops as well as Debenhams. This retails at £25.00 in Debenhams but varies in price depending on where you buy it.
If you're a candle lover like me then this is the calendar for you.

4. Ciaté Mini Mani Month

As a nail fanatic and nail tech this is the ultimate calendar. I've wanted a Ciaté advent calendar for a few years but alas, I have never had one! The packaging is always so intricate and pretty, I wouldn't want to open the individual windows ( I obviously would!) You can get this calendar from ASOS for £50.00 and personally, I think this is steal. A bottle Ciaté nail polish is usually around £9.00 each, so worth the dollar.

5. Hotel Chocolat Advent Calendar - Caramel
Seeing as I'm writing a blog on advent calendars I couldn't not put in a chocolate one! I don't know why I haven't thought of this before but Hotel Chocolat clearly do advent calendars, duh! I adore the chocolate from here and would love to give their calendar a try this year! This calendar is a caramel one but they also do dark, milk and white chocolate versions. Each calendar is made up of cute penguins, reindeers, Christmas trees and snowmen! This calendar retails at only £12.50 and you can buy it online or in-store.

So there's my run down of my favourite 2016 advent calendars! Which one is your favourite? Leave a comment below if there's one in particular I should look out for which I haven't put in this post :)

Thanks for reading!

  1. I can't make up my mind between the Yankee advent calendar and the Ciaté one. Maybe I'll get the two!

    1. I think I may have to go for the Yankee candle calendar! X
